墨爾本大學預科Trinity College課程信息與語言要求變更重要通知

Trinity College 發(fā)來課程信息與語言要求變更的通知，具體如下，
  • Specialised Extended Intakes在2017年最后一次開設，從2018年起這一課程將被取消，學生應在入讀Main program前努力提高英語水平，可選擇入讀Hawthorn-Melbourne提高雅思分數(shù)。
  • 從2017年8月起Comprehensive Extended課程的雅思要求略微提高，從之前的總分5.5單項沒要求變?yōu)榭偡?.5，單項不低于5.0.
  • TOEFL錄取分數(shù)的調(diào)整如下圖，2018年起將實行新的錄取標準

4. 從2018年起，所有語言成績的有效期為開課前12個月，也就是一年，以保證成績更接近學生入學時的真實水平。

?Trinity College is committed to the success of every student admitted into our Foundation Program. Our goal is to ensure that students have a strong chance to receive an offer to the University of Melbourne.
Following a review of our intakes and English language requirements, we have decided to make the following changes to improve the success rate of students:
1.??? Specialised Extended intakes will be discontinued from August 2017.
2.??? IELTS requirements for Comprehensive Extended intakes will be raised slightly in August?2017.
3.??? TOEFL requirements will be raised for all intakes commencing in 2018.
4.? ?From 2018,?English language test results will be valid for 12 months only.

1. Specialised Extended Intakes
?March Specialised Extended 2017 will be the final Specialised Extended intake at Trinity. Our review indicates that these students will be better served by undertaking an English language preparation program before they commence in the Main intake at Trinity College.
These students will be encouraged to study further English at?home or at Hawthorn-Melbourne.?Once they have met the English language requirements for the Main program, they will be sent an unconditional offer for the Trinity College Foundation Studies program.

2. IELTS Requirement
? The IELTS requirement for Comprehensive Extended intakes will be raised from IELTS 5.5 (no bandscore requirement) to IELTS 5.5 (no band scorebelow 5.0) to ensure that students have minimum skills in all areas of English. This will apply from August 2017.

3. TOEFL Requirements
TOEFL scores will also be raised for all intakes, to ensure students have sufficient English to undertake the challenging nature of the Trinity program. From the beginning of 2018, the following TOEFL scores will be?required:

4. English Test Results
From 2018, all?English test results will be valid only for the 12 months prior to the commencement date of the relevant intake (reduced from 24 months).? This is to ensure that the test result more accurately reflects the language ability of the student upon arrival.
