傲嬌的LBS

LBS （London Business School）不參與Times排名，但在商學(xué)和管理學(xué)領(lǐng)域頗具領(lǐng)導(dǎo)地位，當(dāng)然學(xué)費(fèi)也貴得要死。個(gè)別網(wǎng)站上在總結(jié)商科申請時(shí)是把LBS的介紹放在G5之前的。作為倫敦大學(xué)下屬的一所研究生學(xué)院，LBS專門招收金融和管理學(xué)方向的研究生課程，并且特別青睞有工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)的學(xué)生。（據(jù)說這個(gè)學(xué)校的計(jì)算機(jī)網(wǎng)絡(luò)系統(tǒng)比較強(qiáng)大，學(xué)生們能夠隨意瀏覽歐洲最大的商學(xué)院圖書館）LBS 每年會(huì)招收180名學(xué)生左右，能拿到錄取的多為本土學(xué)生，美本，澳本和香港本科的學(xué)生，而且會(huì)有面試。
下面跟大家分享一個(gè)申請LBS失敗的案例，中意LBS的童鞋請看過來~
學(xué)生985院校會(huì)計(jì)學(xué)專業(yè)，GPA：3.75/4.0, ACCA已考過11門，寒暑假期間有在各大會(huì)計(jì)師事務(wù)所（麥格理，德勤，中恒信會(huì)計(jì)師事務(wù)所，安永）實(shí)習(xí)的經(jīng)歷；IELTS: 7.5，GMAT：710；申請LBS- MiM (Master in Management) 專業(yè)。如此強(qiáng)大的背景，學(xué)生在“海選”階段就敗下陣來。個(gè)人覺著失敗的主要原因在于工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)不足（至少1-2年的工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)）
這個(gè)學(xué)校的申請不需要常規(guī)的PS，但是有各種各樣的Essays （3或4個(gè)問題，每個(gè)問題的回答字?jǐn)?shù)限定在300-500字）和開放性問題需要回答；簡歷需要按照LBS提供的模板，需要GMAT，推薦信網(wǎng)推（網(wǎng)推過程中也是各種回答開放性問題）和90英鎊申請費(fèi)。

Question 1 (500 words)
In what company and role will you be working in after completing your Masters in Managementand how will your academic, professional, and personal achievements allow you to succeed in this position? What challenges do you foresee in pursuing this goal?
Question 2 (300 words)
The MiM study groups will challenge students by testing their ability to work with academically and culturally diverse peopleand to play different roles within these teams. What strengths will you bring to your teamand what qualities will you need to improve in order to be a valued team member? Feel free to use a real example to illustrate your thoughts.
Question 3 (200 words)
The core values of London Business School challenge individuals to be communal, courageous, ambitious, eclectic, and engaged. Please tell us about a time when you demonstrated one of these values in your personal or professional life.
Question 4 (400 words)
Please answer this question ONLY if you are applying to the Global Masters in Management.
An exposure to the Western and Eastern way of doing business is a fast-track to succeed in today’s global world. Boeing CEO Jim McNerney has said, “The people who will lead our company in the future have to have personal experience in China." “If you were to interview with Mr. McNerney for a position in his company, how would you demonstrate that you’re the right person for the role?”

Initial review of each application checks that candidates have met our basic admissions criteria and we particularly look for (in no particular order):
Appropriate level of experience (less than one year of relevant, post-graduate full-time work experience, or less than two years of non-business experience)

There is not always one specific reason why candidates are not successful but a GMAT/GRE score below the class average, a poor undergraduate performance, or lack of research and understanding of the programme can make an application less competitive.
